There will be a weekend Mountain Music Convention on Labor Day Weekend at the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center in Stecoah, NC (Graham County). We’re about 80 miles from Asheville, halfway between Bryson City and Fontana Dam off Hwy 28.
Musicians and Mountain Music Lovers invited!
We are located in a restored 1926 schoolhouse, and we’re opening up our 10 acre grounds for camping all weekend.
Here’s the line up:
Friday: Camping opens at noon. Campfire & Jam 6pm—?
Saturday: Individual (Jr. & Sr.) competitions in banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin begins at 11am.
Saturday Night: 7pm - 10pm Flatfoot Workshop & Dance with Phil Jamison
Sunday: Band Competitions in Gospel, Bluegrass & Old-Time begins at 1:30pm

The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is a non-profit corporation that seeks to preserve mountain traditions for generations to come. Our historic auditorium is a focal point for Mountain Music in WNC. We host a concert every Saturday night in a 10-week summer series called “An Appalachian Evening”.
