Okay, I’ve gone to all kinds of links for UNC, AB Tech, and still can’t find a good resource
for Native American studies. Or studies not for a degree. Something different. Figure if it’s not in Asheville, it’s not anywhere. Need something to think about besides an 18-letter word for something too esoteric in the NYTimes puzzle.
Thanks, Steve. The title of the puzzle this week is “Let’s talk about me,” and the first long one is “Pardon me?” but I was kind of joshing. Just starting it, and I’m always a little intimidated since I seem to suffer, on and off, with fear.
On another subject, I’m still glad that I ran away from home, in VA, last year. This is a good place, the mountains are good for me. And I get to find out just how much I’m capable of when living alone for the first time in ages.
What was the crossword clue? Maybe I can help nudge you in the right direction if I have more context.
Though I consider this cheating, I’m working my way through the puzzle, and the clue is “____
little silhouetto of a man” (Bohemian Rhapsody lyric). I’m embarrassed because I know the rest
of the words, of course. And a 4-letter word for “seeding org.?” Tennis, no?
Oh, I guess this isn’t just a thread for the NYT crossword.
There are a few courses offered at WCU under Native American Studies:
*The Roots of Health Disparities in Native American Populations.
*Indigenous and Western Psychologies
*Healing the Wounded Native Child
*American Indian Tobacco and Substance Use
There were a couple other courses scattered throughout Religion, Poli Sci, History, Anthropology, etc. They also offer a Minor in Cherokee Studies.
