That’s funny, I’m going to be in that area around the same time as well. I mostly spend my time at a friend’s farm in Uvita, but I usually end up in Domi once or twice a week.

What level surfers are ya’ll? Beginners? Some experience? Expert?

I’ve been to Costa Rica a fair amount and know that particular area the best. What kind of info are you looking for exactly? How long will you be there?

Anything I can do to help, just let me know.

I stayed in Dominical for a week or so a couple years back.  One suggestion is to make sure you don’t splurge for a big meal thinking that the restaurant by the beach accepts Mastercard.
The surfing was great.

I’ve never been to that part of Costa Rica, but it sounds nice. Make sure to give us a trip report when you return.

Edit: Plug “Costa Rica” into the search.

Bumpin’ this.

Seriously Carrie, I’m pretty familiar with that area.

You should check out this place while you’re there, for starters.

I have never liked the idea of swimming in the ocean.  After seeing the film “Seven Pounds” I believe my caution to have been wise. As for Costa Rica, I have an aversion to traveling foreign lands which may have problems with their water supplies.  Had a friend once who went to Mexico and ate the wrong thing ending him up in the hospital.  People may not realize how careful you need to be.  His downfall was eating a fresh salad, washed, of course, by contaminated water.

I’ve been swimming in oceans for 30 years and I’ve never had a single problem. I’ve been scuba diving with sharks, lots and lots of sharks, barracudas, etc. and never had a problem. You have a greater chance of being struck by lightning, so you probably shouldn’t go outside.

As for Costa Rica, I have an aversion to traveling foreign lands which may have problems with their water supplies.

And, apparently, an aversion to actually knowing about said foreign lands.

Had a friend once who went to Mexico and ate the wrong thing ending him up in the hospital.  People may not realize how careful you need to be.  His downfall was eating a fresh salad, washed, of course, by contaminated water.

That happened to some people I know, too. They were eating at this fancy place on Hilton Head Island.

What, not gonna tell us to carry mace?
