SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS) - Some Sacramento families are hiding illegal pets; they’re chickens. But, now there’s a growing group looking to change the law.

It’s a different kind of chicken and egg debate.

The group is bringing together lawbreakers like Crouch, and there are a lot of them.

The group numbers in Cluck have tripled in the few weeks, and they’re hatching a plan to the change the law and free everyone from the chicken coop closet.

So, is this just some fad, or am I going to have to worry about my neighbors in Spartanburg putting in a coop? My property value!

It may be a fad, but it is not new. One city after another has been falling to urban chickens. The bottom line is without roosters they are less noisy and are not near as stinky and unsanitary as dogs. They produce food, eat bugs and actually make passable pets.

OK here’s the bottom line..Chickens are lizards with wings..they have no moral compass..they will snatch a sandwich out of your hands without a thankyou..they are selfish and they look funny up close..they will walk in front of your car and let you run them over just to make you feel bad..the only good thing about chickens are eggs and little chickies..somebody had to say it..
