So, why the F cant people slow down and co-operate as they enter asheville on 240 from the east?  You have all these lanes merging together in a 50 zone (?), and you get all these assholes in their freakin super SUV’s riding your ass and cutting over three lanes to try and get ahead of who, exactly? If you want to drive fast, may I suggest taking the 40? Otherwise, slow down a bit if your plan is to cut in front of five people only to get off at the Montford exit, you freaking idiot!!!

While I don’t disagree with you, that part of I-240 can be very confusing for anyone not familiar with it. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the area where there are several lanes that seem to end abruptly without a lot of warning ahead of time, and if you think you’ve picked a good lane to stay in, suddenly you have to get over, sometimes when there’s heavy traffic. I think that occurs on the left as well as the right at some points. And the one lane that I always seem to be in at the wrong time is the one that suddenly becomes a right turn only for Charlotte Street, so I have to get over. So unless folks drive that stretch day in and day out, the way it’s designed is always going to cause some potentially dangerous traffic problems for others not familiar with it.

The problem is obvious. There are too many of us friggin yankee transplants here who still think we are up in Nu Yawk or Joisey. The solution? Transplants should have to wait 5 years before being licensed in North Carolina.
