I think hating The Eagles is over-rated. No matter how much you like The Big Lebowski.
I don’t even much like The Big Lebowski and I still hate the Eagles.
So we both agree that The Big Lebowski is overrated.
Also CCR rules!!! So much so, that even John Fogerty tries to rip them off.

I’ve never read any list or review or column that had the Misfits anywhere near the top.
I’ve never even heard a single person say ‘They’re the best band ever!”

My rationale: There are about a billion Misfits cover acts who believe their music, style and overall attitude deserve to be perpetuated suggest that there are plenty of people who think they’re one of the greatest bands in modern history. Also, there are tons of people covering—generally ironically, but not always—Misfits songs. But they were a pretty dumb band in my estimation, and their contributions to punk, metal, fashion, culture and my music collection are deeply overrated.
Danzig had his moments though, and “Mother” is a good, catchy song if only hear it once a year or so.

Basically any ‘classic’ rock band from the past 3 or 4 decades, with a few exceptions. The doors come to mind. AC/DC. U2. The Eagles. CCR. Skynard.
Yes, some of these bands are ‘good’, but they are still over-rated.
Oh, and someone said Metalica. that should maybe top the list.
EDIT: no, even more over-rated than metalica, would have to be Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe the most over-rated, ever. They cant even play their ####### instruments.
Oh, and the gorillas.
