This is a boring unremarkable article..what they fail to mention is that the hot water is melting the Greenland Perma Frost and if it gets much hotter..the water will rise 20 feet..We don’t need no stinking Florida!! Most the folks working at the Citizen Times own property down in Tampa…
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)—Ahoy, mateys! The N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh is celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day with free admission to anyone who dresses like a pirate.
What ever you say about this headline..these folks know marketing..Pirates sell..
This is one of the worst headlines I’ve ever seen.
Wow, I can’t believe I’m saying this:
In all fairness, this looks an awful lot like a generic press release that went straight to print. There’s no byline at all.
Which reminds me of one reason I particularly hate online newspapers. There’s almost no way to tell what “section” the piece belongs in. This is definitely not supposed to be in the A or B sections of a local. This is more of a D section piece on a Thursday.
That’s been happening more and more these days, as newsroom staffs shrink across the country. The paper here in Spartanburg has been running “Staff Reports” bylines like crazy for the last year.
So you are saying I could start a newspaper web site, but not the actual print newspaper, and just run press releases, all the while maintaining a facade of being the online version of the printed material? Hmmm….
