My question is this the mainstream of the Republican Party now? Their biggest cheerleaders (Fox News) perpetuate this nonsense, and now this is the result: old, scared white people who feel left behind by what happened in November.
The saddest thing about this may be the distorted view these people must have of American history. The ‘Tea Party’ they supposedly model themselves after was all about working people resisting oppression by multi-national corporations. Years ago, I was arguing with a conservative friend about the Seattle protests, & he actually said, “Putting on masks and destroying private property? That’s no way to make your point. Why not model yourself after something constructive from American history, like the Boston Tea Party?” Absolutely no awareness of the absurdity of what he had just said…
Apparently, the photo below is being circulated to justify that. Unfortunately, it’s a fake. A building erected in 2005 is missing from this photo, so it’s possible that this was actually an anti-war rally. I was IN THE MALL at those rallies, so are these liars taking a picture of me & my friends as phony proof that they represent a huge segment of America? Despicable.
