This thread is for posting of random, off-topic images, refrains of “free the mams,” dissertations on balls and everything else forum poster richey has on his mind. Posts of this nature go here, and if they’re posted in another thread and are not relevant (or violate rule 1, 6 or 7), they’ll be deleted.

This thread, however, is immune. Anything richey posts here is, by definition, relevant to richey. The intent is to keep the content from spilling over into other threads.

Any other poster who wants to create their own user-specific thread under the same terms is welcome to.

Is there a way that I can ignore this entire thread?

It’s easy for me, since I can rarely find anything after it drops off the front page.

I fail to see much demand for “Richey specific” posts.  Indeed, it appears the opposite is the case.

Which is why I’m trying to put them all in one place. One thread of pure, richey, rather than a thin glaze covering the forums. Interestingly, this richey-specific place is richey-free at the moment.

I understand the intent.  It will be easier to simply skip than to slog through the usual long, rambling inanity which permeates other threads, so that clearly will be an improvement.

I’m curious as to where the line between driveling slog and quality posting (aka SERIOUS BUSINESS) will be drawn. Seems like quite a subjective divide. I predict this will last about, oh, 20 minutes.

To be completely candid, I’m not really keen on enforcing rule 1. It was specifically intended for situations like this, but it requires much more of a judgment call than some of the other rules. I mean, SPAM is SPAM, but low-content is kind of relative.

My rule of thumb is going to be consistent, repetitive, low-content posts which are largely irrelevant to the topic at hand. Basically, if it’s happening enough to be truly annoying, and it doesn’t stop after a warning, it’ll merit a probation. It’s hard to make a case for a ban unless the intent is just plain malice, though.

I’ve been talking with the webmaster about creating a mechanism for putting users on a timed probation, which should help. Post noise, you’ll be banned for a day or whatever.

dissertations on balls

Thanx for the vote of confidence..my balls thread has almost 500 views and is the place to go for in depth debate about balls..

http://www.mountainx.com/forums/viewthread/2192/

Abolishing Balls for just one year could save our sagging economy…By abolishing balls I mean the manufacturing of balls..foot balls , base balls, golf balls and all ball related activities..

If we took the recovered ball revenue from a one year ball moratorium..We could reform health care..create electric cars for every man woman and child..and refocus our youth toward useful careers..

Balls cost this nation many billions of dollars..in manufacturing, wasted hours watching professional ball athletes..and exorbitant health care costs patching up amateur as well as professional ball related injuries..

If this experiment works and I know it will..we could abolish balls for 5 years and really take care of things that really matter..lets get our priorities straight people we can do it…

Steve, it’s like you read my mind.

This is perfect!

You see guys, he cares. Well, sort of, in a non-committal, 90% not paying attention kind of way.

Have fun Richey! I hope to stop by often!!!!!!!!
