from the dept of whoops, where’s my coke?:
NEWARK, N.J. (WPIX) - 3 four year old boys and one four year old girl were taken from the Clinton Avenue Daycare Center to the hospital Friday after Newark police say 25 year old Shaheed Wright gave his son small packets of cocaine to hold, which he then brought into daycare and gave to his friends.
A teacher at the center noticed one of the children with a foreign object in her mouth, which turned out to be a plastic bag with cocaine. Police say the son of Wright told them his father gave him the packets, which his father described as filled with candy. The young boy then gave the packets to his classmates.
Hospital officials say only one of the kids actually ingested the cocaine. All four children were treated and released.
Police say Wright of East Orange, who has been charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and possession and intent to distribute drugs, gave his son the packets after an earlier near brush with police.
