I just can’t find enough local news to post that already hasn’t been posted. Is the news market oversaturated already?

I’m actually impressed at how BlogWire is already performing. It’s only been up for few weeks and it’s already one of the top-visited pages.

Imagine the web traffic if the Xpress followed tattoo jay’s advice.

Having, as Shanfelty did, some resistance to Twitter (though it’s come in handy as a way to train for more effective text-messaging, tho I’m far from being on-par with my 16-year-old niece), I find Blogwire to be a bit better way to get some quick news out. We staffers don’t have time to turn everything into a Blogpost, a Buzz or a full news/feature. But we get to feeling itchy when interesting/relevant/etc news flies by our desks without taking root.

it’s a promising experiment, and I hope we’ll get more and more of those “citizen journalists” posting to it.

Kudos to all involved, from The Fobes to Shanfelty to Maestro WebMaster Shope at Xpress.

Having, as Shanfelty did, some resistance to Twitter ...

I still have problems with Twitter. If I look past what Twitter is at the moment (and very far past what it started out as), and think of it as less Twitter specifically and more “microblogging,” it’s a little better. It’s a great tool for sharing information quickly, and in some cases you don’t need more than 140 characters to say all you need to say about something, but I still have plenty of reservations about it beyond that.

Glad to see the “shanfelty” meme is catching.

I can live with being called Shanafelty, I suppose.
