ya, whats up with that ‘write-in’ shit? why didnt they say ‘shad marsh’?

Asheville missed a historic opportunity here to elect it’s first Boardin’ mayor. He could have broken the Boardin’ barrier, our own snarky Obama. We’re just not ready yet to turn this historic corner.

In other news, Spartanburg elected an old, wealthy white guy as Mayor. Not the last old, wealthy white guy, though. A new one.

Shad, move to Spartanburg and run for something. The mayoral race in Central Pacolet was won by someone who got a grand total of 22 votes. Your 144 write-in votes would have been a landslide victory.

Okay, so maybe he didn’t garner all 144 write-ins, but this headline should be on the front page:

Shad Marsh wins most votes of any write-in mayoral candidate (if you don’t count Robin Cape), including Carl Mumpower

On the mayoral side, Cape also led the write-in field with 23 votes, followed by Shad Marsh (who ran in the primary) with 18, Asheville Design Center planner Joe Minicozzi with 12, Council member Carl Mumpower with 11 and former Council member Joe Dunn with five.

As long as he doesn’t plan on taking away my guns, I’m OK with this.

When I was running for mayor I proposed a “turn in your old bike for a gun and city job” program. So your guns are safe, in fact I would like to find a way to get you more guns. Big guns that shoot through schools.
