The PBS has seen it fit to describe the war in Afghanistan as Obama’s War…I think there is some kind of weird subconscious manipulation going on here. Vietnam wasn’t Kennedy’s War…The Korean War wasn’t Eisenhower’s war..Why do we need to label this Obama’s War? As far as I can tell Obama seems like the most peaceful guy we’ve had in the oval office for quite a while..I think he would withdraw the troops from Afghanistan if it wouldn’t cause a bigger mess… check out the link…I have to ask…

Why is the media painting this as Obama’s War when he obviously is a victim of his circumstance..hell he was a 37 year old doe eyed community worker when the 9/11 happened..

The official strategy, which Obama announced in March, is to focus more narrowly than in the past on disrupting and defeating Al Qaeda, because that’s our main strategic interest here. That’s where the problem started. That’s the threat to us. And I think Obama wanted to keep the public invested in this war. The only way to do that was to remind them that it was about Al Qaeda at the beginnin, and it’s still about Al Qaeda.

But the problem with that is it leads to a whole series of consequences which take you well beyond defeating Al Qaeda to defeating, or at least pushing back, their allies, the Taliban, who are a sort of diffuse and multi-headed force, and to stabilizing and helping to shore up not just one but two governments, two weak and perhaps even collapsing governments, one in Kabul, the other in Islamabad.

I think it is because the past doesnt exist in politics, any more. At least, the past perpetuated by the Right.

But it IS his war in the sense that he is the commander in Chief.  He could just pull out at any point, if he wanted, after all. And his Party, the Democratic Party, did get us into that war in the first place. you cant blame Bush and the GOP for everything, even though thats what the Donkey’s want.

This whole war over there reminds me a little of bullies on the play ground..they bomb us..we annihilate them..they bomb us… we unlesh the greatest war machine that has ever existed on them….I’d really like us to do something that doesn’t look like some dumb asses fighting in the street..If Obama were a brilliant military strategist and
international policy wizard..I might give him credit for the messes over in the middle east..But he seems like a guy who stepped into a confusing pile of imperialistic poo... Perhaps the struggle and all this

I really want to believe that Obama is in the drivers seat..Cause I like the guy and it seems as if his heart is in the right place..What I’m afraid is true is that he’s just another pawn manipulated to make the masses feel like they’re getting a little over on the man..Am I cynical or what?..Christ I’m evil..

American politics serve the interests of the powerful minority at the expense of the powerless majority.

I’m sorry I thought I addressed your question..I’m afraid it’s the folks behind the scenes with all the money who pulls the strings so they can continue to maintain their power structure…I’m not totally sure…

The folks that really make the decisions hide and put their hired puppets on TV to make us feel like we’re really deciding things..I hope to god I’m wrong Piffy…I’d hate to think we’re just a bunch of consumer robots , pretending we live in some bastardized version of a democracy..

I started to formulate this theory when Reagan got elected..” I remember thinking ..no one in their right mind would elect this guy they’d have to be totally hypnotized”.. and indeed the activities of our government in the last 35 years have been weird and beyond my understanding..

Calling it Obama’s War is just a manipulation to try and undermine him so that we can change presidents in a few years..if we leave a guy like Obama to long in office he might actually start to exact change that will undermine the power structure..just ramblin..but doesn’t it make sense..?
