Tonight the heavens opened and rain fell. Book burning didn’t take place. There were several news crews, reporters, Sheriff and protesters. If I had been the pastor I would have been embarrassed that more protesters came out than members.  There may have been books destroyed but when the flock left the building it was the woman and children first, only five of them and then the pastor himself. As the woman and children left he turned out the porch light, as if trying to hide their identities and turned it on and then back off when he left.

During the service it was said the news crew and others were listening through the floor upstairs and could here yelling from the service. The only disappointing thing was that more locals didn’t attend the event. One came as far as Chattanooga, Tn and others an hour or so away. Was a peaceful event and most that were there didn’t agree with this radical man!

There were signs that read things like: What would Jesus do, Who are we to judge and several others. A gentleman that was dressed in an outfit of a Nazi soldier came out, gave an interview saying this promotes hate. He wouldn’t give his name and held two books, one was the Mormon bible and the other was not able to be seen. He did say that he was only wearing a costume and that is all it was. Protesters were unsure if he was there in support of the event or against it. Left most of us puzzled.

We are unsure if chicken and all the sides were served!

The bucket on his head represented how “we’re blind to their tyranny.”

Book Burning Great Success! We wanted to say the Book Burning was a great success. The video of the entire service will be up in a few days. We wanted to thank all the Bible doubters who prayed for rain with us. All the protestors and media got wet; we were inside where it was nice and dry. Praise God for answered prayer. Some have written praising God they he intervened and stopped the Book Burning because of the rain, protestors, and state laws about burning paper. These same people must have never heard about “Paper, Rock, & Scissors.” Scissors cut paper, and paper tears real easy. We destroyed everything as planned. Praise God! God answered every prayer that everyone prayed, but they don’t like the answer. This is directly from Marc Gizzard’s site

You call it a great success because the protesters got wet!! Mr. Gizzard, did you have a book BURNING as you said you would? No, you didn’t. Did your whole congregation come? NO! How many people where there? SIX!! How many were family members? At least four!!! Paper, rock and scissors, wow how old are you? My ten years old boys don’t even play that game anymore. Jesus would never had stayed closed up in a church hiding! When did God step off his thrown and allow you to have say over HIS CHURCH? Sir your a piece of work and did you know they offer classes at Haywood Community collage for grammar! We will keep praying for you and your family because at this point in their lives you have proselytized them, giving them no choice.

So is he saying they just cut the offending books up instead of burning them? Well, paper covers rock, so they could not have just stoned the bad bibles.

Anyway, here is a Haywood Community Collage I like:

You sayin’ you don’t like my collage of the Haywood community?

(Edited to make clear to certain people that the joke was not about fake post sponsorships but rather how humorous it is to chide someone for poor grammar by suggesting they go to college, but misspelling not only “you’re” but also college as “collage” instead.)

I had wondered if it was going to happen. Seemed to me that one of would happen
1) Public outcry at the scene would force law enforcement to put a stop to it.
2) Big gooberment would step in and quash free speech (expression) for the benefit and comfort of the many.
3) That this was nothing but a huge publicity stunt on the part of a small town preacher and a few radicals in his congregation. They had no intent of ever going through with it but now we all know his name and the name of the church.

As far as I have been able to piece together from post Halloween accounts it was a combination of #2 and #3 in the end.

I’m curious how ‘big gooberment’ had anything to do with this… Care to elaborate? Or is that just ‘from your gut’?

Also, are you the same Yona the posts on Topix?

As I understand it they were threatened with a large fine if they preceded with the book burning. That would be big gooberment interfering in individual rights whether I agree or disagree with them I support their right to be.

Does it matter if I am? Since you asked yes I am Yona and I am the same Yona on AC-T, Huffington, and several others. I post under my name (the same name) on all so everyone knows I stand behind my comments and am not a coward that hides under several aliases.

Who you calling a coward?

I didn’t say anyone called me a coward. Coward is my opinion of those that hide behind several different names in order to post on a single forum or forum hop using different names in order to troll for the most aggressive response to their comments. My comment was simply pointing out that I post under 1 name and 1 name only on all forums, comment sections, and blogs so that everyone knows who I am and that I stand behind my comments, unlike trolls. I’m sorry that it was phrased so that you misunderstood it.
