nice. i’ll come sample your wares next fall. i’m great with a set of fiskars.

although that is, historically, a fairy politically conservative county that barely went to obama this year, and went to bush previously. as i’m sure you know, it’s just to the west of some of the most “red” counties in the state. also, not very good bus system up in that area.

what sort of “Misinformation”?

Only in California could you have fairy political conservatives. Then again, what about the hammer. is he from killa-cali?

No wares to get your scissors sticky. (The pict of the sign was e-mailed and I posted it for shits and giggles)

Misinformation about various things, from environmental (allergies) to personal issues I don’t care to discuss to protect the “guilty”. That and the “political"climate here.

That is a beautiful area, even if the 299 is really curvey.

BusGreg…  Blue Lake!  What a surprise!  I went to Humboldt State in the mid-60s and had friends who worked at Simpson’s in Blue Lake.  That was my first time out of WNC, and I thought the whole rest of the world was like Arcata.  Only later did I learn that Arcata (and environs) in the ‘60s was a special time and place.  Blue Lake is especially beautiful.

If I could not live in Asheville I’d live out in the rural areas of WNC, or Hendersonville. I don’t think I’d ever leave this area. Actually I’d live in any of the above without complaint.

If I were forced to leave the area, then maybe I’d go somewhere in the Northwest.

I’ve always liked the idea of a livable island. Sustainable power, water, and food. With satellite it isn’t like Robinson Crusoe. Anyway that was a dream that I shared openly.

In reality I used to love San Diego but recent visits have proved that it isn’t as beautiful and nice as it had been when I lived there in the late 80s. Emerald Isle N.C. is nice assuming you don’t have to work and don’t have a problem with the land under your home washing away every decade or so. Do I have to choose outside WNC or can I say on a mountain just west of here with a sustainable and self sustaining life style. No kidding, evil conservative and my dream home would be similar to a cross between an Earth ship and a Spanish adobe home. Add in next gen solar cells, wind, and hydro electric and my power needs and comfort are looked after. I have no problem getting dirty growing food and raising live stock. Sorry vegi friends meat isn’t up for negotiation.

I am sure that many of you could flesh that out and I promise I have left out detail. Maybe island or mountain my ideal place if I couldn’t live here would be lightly on the Earth.

Rangeley, Maine and Tuscany. And Steamboat Springs, CO. Maybe Toronto. Could I have a small little downtown condo in Asheville? Please?

I could easily live in the region of Italy around Florence….Brazil’s coast line is exceptionally wonderful & NO HURRICANES, or Buenos Aries, Argentina.  If I could I’d choose all three locations.

Ah firelady.  You do know that my my MX name is a tribute to Steamboat Springs, yes?

Back to topic, it looks like Belize, but suddenly Singapore is a high possibility.  While Singapore isn’t an ideal for me, a short bus/cab/puddle jumper bring you to countless different islands, countries and experiences.  So that.

New ideas. If I couldn’t live in Asheville, Paris of the south, then the Governors mansion or the White House would be realistic options for possible 8 year residences, combined a total of 16. I am certainly as well educated, experienced, and qualified as the current tenants and I couldn’t do worse or more damage.

If I were living in the White House I would reinstate the open door policy.

“Thomas Jefferson was the first to open the White House to the public and it has remained open ever since, except in wartime. In the early days, it was like one big open house, with people coming and going as they pleased during inaugural events or on special holidays. Not until Grover Cleveland’s first presidency (1885-1889) did this open-door policy change, if only for the safety of the president.”

A president of the people should be accessible to the people and not just high powered lobbyist and those with elite access. Shoot me, assassinate me, maybe but I would go out representing the people and I think that would be an honorable death. In all likelihood an honest representative president would have nothing to fear from those who support him or those who oppose him. Most would respect him or her for being available to the people and answerable to them.

Of course he would be dead within 20 minutes.  Populism doesn’t always equal intelligence.

If you want to gripe about Obama, start a different thread. Don’t try to derail this one.

*cue generic defense that it’s not only Obama but “all politicians” he hates*
