Is Oteen an actual place or just a “community” like, say, Balfour or Mountain Home that only exists on maps but has no physical boundaries that can plainly be seen by casual, human observation?

Also, what the hell is an Oteen? It brings to mind the name of a forgettable 90s boy band or maybe a nutritious, chocolate drink mix.

Everything Breebs asks, I would also like to know about.

i thought oteen was just slang for ovaltine.

Grub nat raps: Spartanburg. It kinda works. Better if there was a logo of a rapping nat grub, though.

when i lived there i was very grubby, had natty hair, and rapped (always). PERFECT!

I go to the Ingles there, and Ultimate Ice Cream on occasion. Also my vet. is there, and Filo is a decent coffee house. The movie rental place went out of business.

Man, I knew the V.A. Hospital provided haphazard care, but they are now assigning area residents their own vet to take care of? That seems harsh on both the veterans and the residents.

I pretend to listen to his endless bellyaching about blah blah blah, and steal his medication. it’s a win win situation.

Oteen has the best darned Waffle House in state, no..make the South East..

I’d have to agree with you on the Waffle House. When I was at Warren Wilson we’d hit that place up all the time. They would even give WWC students discounts on occasion.

I had a couple pints and tried the garlic tiger wings at the East Village Grille in Oteen the other night after a long drive back into town.  Wings were surprisingly okay and wow, Oteen is crawling with moderately attractive drunk women. 
I see Oteen taking over Swannanoa for the most unidentifiable hotspot to the east of Asheville any minute now.

Oh I used to eat at the East Village a lot!  Thanks for reminding me of it. They have an awesome sandwich called The Asheville Club.  Now I’m yearning for that.

Another good place is Norton’s Bar and Grill(e). My band played there a couple times and the comp meals were very good. Awesome burgers. Unfortunately, we were too loud to be asked back a third time.
