So science has been predicting the climate change we are experiencing for decades now. Oceans are rising and weather patterns are getting more unpredictable. Many people choose to ignore it by assuming that ‘progress’ is an inevitable constant, forever propelling us into a brighter and more prosperous future. Others are preparing for the worst and writing novel-length rants on the MX blogs. Some folks are trying to learn more about gardening and ‘survival skills’, some are buying Priuses and “Green Homes.”

What do you think the next five years holds for this planet, this continent, and this bio-region?  What can we do? Is this just another Y2K hoax to make Al Gore rich, or do you plan on diggin a big hole to survive the potential upcoming pole shift.

Out of Tragedy people come together in Love…. How can we see devastation as bad?

Probably because it’s so devastating, I suppose.

the next five will pass like the last five ... nothing changing, and everything changing constantly ... i’m not trying to be ironic, but it’s a matter of perspective. from another planet, nothing changes here. like watching grass grow ...

but from the microscopic level, dear lawd ... there have been much more dire threats to human kind ... can you imagine being alive in japan when the u.s. dropped THE bomb? TWICE?! wtf?

our technology has allowed us access into the minutiae of so much more than we ever knew or even suspected could be true ... and of course, the technology will save us ... but first, we gotta get some cash flowing from all this hand-wringing ...

i used to like gore ... until carbon credits came along ... biggest load of cheez whiz i ever heard. that’s nouveau environmentalism, i guess ... you just buy your way out ...

but i’m still hopeful ... there are enough good guys to save us in the end ... there always are ...

Mass migrations of people due to major Earth changes consisting of earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods, the Earth tells us this has happened before.
A more Spiritual based community will be needed for survival. Understanding that everyone is important.

December 21, 2012

It takes 25,627 years for the solar system to complete a full circle through all 12 constellations of the Zodiac.  This movement is called the Precession of the Equinoxes.  One complete 360 degree cycle of the 12 constellations is the length of an Astrological Age.

On December 21, 2012, at 11:11 Universal Time, there will be a precise alignment of the Sun with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy (our Galaxy).  At that moment, the Earth, the Sun, the star cluster Pleiades and of the center of our Galaxy will be in exact alignment.  Thus, the current Astrological Age of 25,627 years will have been completed.

The Mayan civilization was extremely advanced.  Their calendar was calibrated to 365.242129 days per year, compared to our Gregorian calendar which contains 365.2425 days per year.

The Mayan calendar:

20 days = 1 Mayan month

18 Mayan months,  plus 5 unlucky days = 1 year (365 days)

20 years = 7,200 days = 1 Katun (19 years & 73 days)

20 Katun = 144,000 days = 1 Baktun (394 years & 52 days)

13 Baktuns (144,000 days each) = 1 Great Age (5,125.4 years).

5 Great Ages = 65 Baktuns = 1 Astrological Age (25,627 years)

The previous Great Age ended on August 10 (my birthday) in 3114 BC.  The current Great Age, which is also the last of five Great Ages within the current Astrological Age, ends on December 21, 2012.

Although this is uncharted territory, there are many possible consequences during this event.

1) Possible planetary shifting of the poles.  If so, great earth changes will likely take place.  Land upheavals, tectonic plate movements, volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, flooding, extremely high winds, etc.

2) Traversing through the exact center of the galaxy could potentially mean traversing through a belt of comets, asteroids, other space debris lingering (trapped) within the vortex of the galactic center.  Meteors falling from the sky.

3) Another possibility is that humanity will undergo a change of consciousness.  Perhaps common sense & tolerance will replace greed & avarice, allowing peace of mind and peace on earth to prevail.

The Mayan prophecies foretell of a new era of heightened consciousness following the end of the present Astrological Age.  There will supposedly be a time-space dimensional shift as time accelerates, modifying the vibrational frequencies of matter, thereby altering human perceptions.  The human race will enter a new interdimensional reality where we become more self-aware & compassionate.  Consequently, we also become one with a collective, supreme Oneness.

As December of 2012 approaches, humanity will become more aware of the potential unforeseen risks.

I suspect those on Earth who have experienced the 11:11 phenomenon will step forward and conduct a harmonic convergence (intervention).  This event could possibly alter the collective human & cosmic consciousness, minimizing the course of catastrophic events and propelling the human race into a new era of understanding.

Thoughts are deeds.

All is one.

Our common destiny will be our collective intention.

At 11:11 Universal Time on 12/21/2012, the destiny of Planet Earth and the human race will be fulfilled.

Some movie with John Cusack is coming out in a few weeks called “2012”.

Oh, God. Here comes the apacolyptic misrepresentation of this whole new age thing.

cool images of the ocean flooding the Himalayas, though

My theory is that the Mayans simply ran out of stone tablets when creating their calendars centuries ago. Either that or they had outstripped their ecosystem in such a Malthusian way that they were on the verge of becoming extinct and didn’t finish creating calendars after 2012.

Either way, time will tell. At least I won’t die a virgin!

the calender doesn’t ‘end’.  that is a commonly held misrepresentation.

The date around 2012 merely accurately predicts a planetary alignment sorta thingy.

im glad you wont die a virgin. that way you wont go to muslilm heaven and be some female suicide bombers 28thh hubby.

My theory is this is just a Mayan plot just to see how stupid people really are.  Like that time I told a bunch of people I had a vision of Jesus and an Alien and they told me they buried some golden tablets in my back yard…I hear that went well.

I’m more concerned about the Singularity Theory. It seems much more impending and realistic, in my opinion.

The Singularity

“The Singularity” is a phrase borrowed from the astrophysics of black holes. The phrase has varied meanings; as used by Vernor Vinge and Raymond Kurzweil, it refers to the idea that accelerating technology will lead to superhuman machine intelligence that will soon exceed human intelligence, probably by the year 2030. The results on the other side of the “event horizon,” they say, are unpredictable. We’ll try anyway.

Ray Kurzweil writes on the subject.

It makes Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics seem like a really good idea.  Since Moore’s Law has held true since 1958, this seems even more important.

After 11:11 Universal Time on 12/21/2012 will come 11:12 Universal Time. Then the next day will be 12/22/2012. One complete cycle of a circular orbit will have been completed according to the calender people it seems and the same thing will start all over again.

Now depending on when they started counting and how long it takes to move through one sign of the zodiac, if they had started counting one zodiac sign early, the full cycle would have already been completed. The world may have already ended.

It all amounts to a hill of beans.

getting some zombies in the shop?

“Would this be cheaper at WalMart?” (No, WalMart doesn’t carry it.)

“Is there a Michaels around here? I’m looking for styrofoam balls?” (Just what is that on top of your neck, anyway?.)

“I really try to support local business. Do you think that after all the time your staff just spent with me, you might be able to match the price of someone who stole this Prismacolor set from you and has it up on E-Bay?” (Trap door in front of register quickly opens and closes.)

I think they are zombies. 2012 rolls around, you all head here. We are the front line.
