does anyone know where i can get a pig for a pig roast? preferably a free-range (if that term applies to swine) pig.

check with the wholesale meat companies… I’ve seen Little Pigs sometimes cook whole pigs at the events they cater, maybe they would tell you where to get one.

and—after you find it and start cooking—gimme a call! I am an expert barbecue eater!

and, by the way ...

one of the major differences between North Carolina barbeque and other states is the use of the whole hog rather than specific cuts like just the shoulder.

it’s good stuff ... and, of course, the choice of sauce can be a matter of regional pride and downright religious significance… be careful there! ;-)
