Sorry about the dumb title, but I didn’t know how else to sum up the energy of the Hanson one-mile walk that just took place. Anybody want to fess-up and admit that they walked a barefoot mile for Hanson’s African poverty-awareness campaign?

(For clarity, I didn’t walk. I have a very painful and unsightly ingrown toenail.)

Our blog on the Hanson walk is totally on their homepage. This is big news. Really big. I mean, we’re talking Hanson big. Here’s the link: http://www.hanson.net/site/hanson/blog_entry/7?entry_id=6124

So, to whom do I complain that Jason Bugg was not assigned to cover Hanson?

I don’t get “assigned” cover anyone.

Why yes I have a blog. What? You want to see my underwear? That’s over the line, sir.

Aah, men of principle, are we? We’ll tear Lou Reed a new one and just leave the glamour boy bands alone, will we?

And you chose not to freely pursue this opportunity? It would have been a portfolio-piece for you, and I’m sure, much funnier.

Mainly because I have scruples. A writer writing something ironic about Hanson? How boring. I was (and still am) a Lou Reed fan, but I found his show to be rather revolting.

The articles that I pitch to the Xpress, and the articles that are approved by editorial are artists who I listen to and find something interesting about. I don’t write about bands that I hate. I write about music and art that I think move along the dialog about what art can and should be in this age of “been there, done that”.
