Ah, the local news.  I watch it about once every three months.  Tonight’s lead story was “Emo Concerns” where a 11 year old girl (whose identity was hidden) talked about being emo for a week.  She talked a little about recruitment and the pressure to cut yourself.

Since most of us shun Channel 13, I felt it my duty to warn everyone here.  It could be YOUR son or daughter.

I hope it’s not my son or daughter. I have no kids, so it would be a surprise to me.

Why yes I have a blog. What? You want to see my underwear? That’s over the line, sir.

What’s that sound? Is it the bottom of the news-barrel being scraped? I think it may just be.

As far as I can tell, the only thing dangerous about being emo is the vastly increased odds of getting deep-vein thrombosis from wearing ill-fitting, too-tight pants.

Look you here! Emo serves an incredibly important purpose. If no one followed this ridiculous trend, where are we going to get silly pictures of politicians and other public figures when they were young and stupidly impressionable?

And more to the point, what does Emo Philips think of all this?
