Normally, I’m immune to the yearly onset of spring pollen, and have never had allergies or hayfever. This year, however, I’ve been miserable, and the culprit seems to be the stupid, thoughtless hordes of trees hellbent on breeding. It’s like I’ve had a moderate cold that comes and goes, my only barometer being the amount my car is covered with sticky yellow dust.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

Leave Michael J. Fox’s wife alone!

Doesn’t she have enough problems having a husband battling Pakinson’s Disease and a daughter in the early stages of clown syndrome?

I’m sure there’s a joke here. It’s a shame I don’t get it.

Steve- I believe his wife’s name is Tracy Pollan (sp?)

I’m right there with you in pollen hell. Usually a dose of over the counter cimetidine (yes, the stomache medicine) keeps the symptoms at bay. Except when the wind is howling and I’m going blind in the yellow haze

Thanks for the assist, Firelady.

Cheap jokes don’t mean, however, that I have no sympathy for all the allergen averse people out there. I just have no actual experience myself with them so far (knock, knock) so I have to participate in some other way.

it’s true what they say ... a spoon of local honey a day wards it off ... (but doesn’t cure it) ...

start now, tho, and it will end and never come back ...

a spoon of honey is like a multi-vitamin anywayz and can’t hurt ...

(over-the-counter zyrtec is good if it’s too late for honey)

I was holding out well enough until the tulip poplars joined in with the pines.  Now there’s half a dozen different trees putting out pollen for me to inhale when I venture out.

Hot liquids here and there, along with a little caffeine, throw in a hot shower every now and then...does wonders.  The moist heat helps keep the sinuses from getting horribly backed up (infection preventative) and the caffeine helps with the asthma-like breathing problems.  I’m not saying OD on caffeine pills or anything...just a simple cup of coffee or tea every now and then.  :)
