[Discussing God and the rain]
Luke: Let him go. Bam, Bam.
Dragline: Knock it off, Luke. You can’t talk about Him that way.
Luke: Are you still believin’ in that big bearded Boss up there? You think he’s watchin’ us?
Dragline: Get in here. Ain’t ya scared? Ain’t ya scared of dyin’?
Luke: Dyin’? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin’ it? Come on. You’re welcome to it, ol’ timer. Let me know you’re up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.
[He looks around]
Luke: I’m just standin’ in the rain talkin’ to myself.
Luke: Oh come on. Stop beatin’ it. Get out there yourself. Stop feedin’ off me. Get out of here. I can’t breathe. Give me some air.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. He is one of the protagonists in the Star Wars series; along with Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, and C-3PO, he is one of the few major characters to appear (in some form or another) in each of the six Star Wars films. He is portrayed in the original trilogy by Sir Alec Guinness and in the prequel trilogy by Ewan McGregor.
Obi-Wan first appears in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, seemingly a mysterious hermit known as Ben Kenobi. He is revealed as a Jedi Knight, who then tutors Luke Skywalker to use the Force. In the prequel films, he appears as a young Jedi, progressing from apprentice, to knight, to master on the Jedi High Council.
It was fun, once, but, as I recall, we sat in a theater full of screaming kids on a Saturday afternoon to watch “Star Wars”. I actually enjoy the mystical aspects of the movies which makes it somewhat different than Star Trek which seems more like a pure western filmed in space. Of course, a well written Western can also have mystical qualities but mostly they’re action flicks, good vs evil, good guys always win. Yoda is the Master in Star Wars, there is none in Star Trek. You see he carries a deadly Zen stick.
Bugg caused some ripples in the little pond hereabouts. ;-)
LOL! Attributing Paul McCartney to a Mark Twain quote was weird. And it’s all so boring actually, rumors of statements and histrionics and drama. Glad i listen to WPVM and NPR.
I read Jason’s apology earlier today at SH. Then this one just now. I may have few post here but have been watching things develop for sometime. Jason Bugg’s indulgence in turning a phrase with crudity so often is repulsive at best. However I’m sure there may be something underneath, if so many say there may be.
“Probably” a penance is called for in atonement for Jason Bugg’s transgressions.
