Personally, I feel great about this. I can’t imagine a more whitebread (not that that’s a bad thing) run of the mill Republican to reinforce the stark contrast in candidates.
Personally, I like Mitt. I feel like he’s an honorable guy, as is McCain (I’m very centrist, cue flaming), but let’s face it: A good deal of this election is based on identity politics. A rich white Christian guy is not the spark the McCain campaign needs. Plus, there is a segment of hardcore Christian Evangelicals that won’t vote for him based on his Mormon belief. Not enough to ultimately swing some red states blue, but we’ll take what we can get.
Looking good for Obama if this indeed turns out to be true.
