Next Saturday, October 4, Mars Hill College is putting on their annual Bascom Lamar Lunsford Festival. This year, it also includes the day long Heritage Festival. In previous years, these festivals were held on different days, with the Heritage Festival being mostly arts and crafts and the Lunsford Festival being old-time and traditional string band music performances in Moore Auditorium during the evening. It used to be, a number of years ago, all this was held on the same day. This year it’s going back to that schedule. But another big change for the better is that there’s going to be music going on all day, as well, on an outside stage. I’ve been told there’s a big line-up scheduled of well-known groups and individuals that will be performing, and jam sessions at various locations will be going on also. And my understanding is that there is also going to be an area for dancing for anyone who’s so inclined.
