Where were you Asheville? It seems some are more concerned with being seen at the same tired watering holes than being at a multi-venue event for a cheap cover to support some great bands and have a good time. The turn out for this event was pretty lousy. And Club Nashwa, oh Nashwa...What was the deal with you throwing everyone out of the club before all the bands that were supposed to play your venue played? You didn’t even let people finish their drinks. I guess you needed to clear the room for all the painted barbies and striped shirt chodes that were waiting to hit your gimmicky oxygen bar. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Too many festivals, bad economy, no shortage of opportunities to see local music, It’s a shame it didn’t go well, but it’s also the fourth or fifth local-music festival since spring (POPAsheville, LAAFF, Musique Automatique, AMJam, whatever that one at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium was called, and a few more I can’t remember ...) People are festivaled out, I’d guess.

Yeah, I can see that. I had a booth at LAAFF this year(My third year doing it), and sales were abysmal...hopefully things will turn around eventually.

On the other hand, “Striped Shirt Chodes” is a great name for a band.
