new gastropub in west a’ville, within walking distance (to me anyway) and great food which includes veggy dishes and food/drink until all hours.  400 haywood road, the Admiral

FInally East WestAsheville has it’s own place!

Does The Admiral have a website with a menu available? My wife is vegan, and I’d like to figure out of there is anything worth our time there.

My blog (in a state of transition), and twitter (which is useless). Stay up to date on me. Stalkers.

We have a buzzworm about it here: http://www.mountainx.com/news/2007/121907buzz3

I tried the black-bean burger, which came with roasted potatoes and greens on the side. Delicious. I like how the Admiral has flexibility; you could go in and toss back a few PBRs straight out of the can and feel like you’re in a dive bar in the midwest, or plunk down and order some gourmet cuisine, depending on your budget or your mood.

There is a menu on their website, but i think it’s more generic and not updated as frequently as the real one.  Should give you a sampling tho, Jason.

In my mind the food is fantastic and well above the recent offerings by Tolliver’s Crossing up by Brevard Road.  But pricier, too, naturally.

Not vegan, but the pimento cheese capped with winter ale rocks!

I had a side of snow peas that rocked my world. I’ve found the staff, spirits, ambiance and food excellent too.
