Physician murderer

A few years ago a guy shot/killed a physician .. a pulmonologist, I think .. anyone remember what happened with the shooter and/or what his name is?

John David Beavers who shot Dr. Brian Ling?

Having visited Central on business for an hour or two, I really wouldn’t recommend it.

I work in the local medical community (in the IT department) and Dr. Ling’s death at the hands of the grief-stricken murderer has had some fallout that includes a greater dilligence in trying to determine if a patient has, or may have, a violent nature - and more stringent means to determine if a patient may be carrying a weapon.
