Also, Krewes are a much looser affiliation than traditional ‘gang’ associations such as MS13 which tag to establish clear territory for business or violence. So, just because an individual is caught tagging MOMS doesn’t mean that all MOMS tags can be attributed to him/her.
After reading a lot of the posts over on the blogs, its seems apparent that people need a bit of a lingo course for graffiti.
TAG-a stylized signature usually simple and one color
THROW UP-a more elaborate tag normally using more than one color, but it takes much less time than a piece
PIECES-short for masterpieces, these are large, detailed drawings, sometimes in 3-D or other special effects
BOMBING-to hit many different surfaces with graffiti vandalism
CREW-a group of graffiti vandals
SLASH-to put a line through or graffiti over someone else’s graffiti
BURNER-a very large, elaborate, detailed piece of graffiti
BUFFING-to remove graffiti by chemical or other methods

I find it very annoying when people refer to a throw-up or a mural, as a tag. I also find it annoying that people think that names like “MOMS” are a person, when it is well known they are a crew, so one person is certainly not responsible for all of the MOMS hits. Plus, MOMS has been around since, what, 03?
Also, its kind afunny that the APD is trying to say that this big bust was the result of “extensive police work” when most folks even loosely affiliated with the graffiti scene know that these busts were all the result of one person in the ‘scene’ giving up info on all of the people who were charged. “Extensive Investigation” my ass.
