I was using “could care less” as a statement reflecting apathy.  As in: I could care less, but it is not worth the energy required to do so.  Also saying that “I couldn’t care less” seems to me to be too varying of a statement to make.  How do I know if it is possible to care less than I all ready care, when I already don’t care?  Measuring it would, I think, require very tiny and very sophisticated instruments which we currently do possess the technology to create…but your handy chart does come close to fulfilling this requirement.

please refer to the Kriss’ post number 9 (see, that number IS a recurring one!) in this thread:

I respectfully disagree.  I prefer the ambiguity of could care less

As long as your disagreement is respectful, then I guess you can make up phrases and use them against common sense.

In truth I really could not care less about any of this.

It makes about as much sense as having Rick Warren do the invocation at the swearing-in ceremony.

that is a crappy rule ... I pass gas in the vicinity of being respectful when using fantasy to fight reality .... this man is clearly ill-prepared for marraige

ON TOPIC again!! With no help from Thomas, even!!

I say good for Obama for actually going through with his talk of being inclusive but also agree that we don’t even need to combine weird, religious rituals into our public ceremonies in the first place.
