My blog is fun. But I want to make it better. I also want to do something different with it. This means I need to buy domain names, and meet a few designers who will work for little or no money. Would anyone be willing to help a dude out? PM or Email me for info.
Those are good suggestions, but don’t just sign up without using a code that can save you money (and give me a small referral fee) at Dreamhost for hosting (which, by the way includes the domain name registration in the yearly hosting fee) or 1and1 for cheap domain name registration. Use the code SAVE9T to save $90 on a yearly hosting account (although it’s cheaper to prepay for multiple years, but the $90 will be taken off those too) and give me $7. Thanks.
Dreamhost is awesome—I’ve used them for six months now with no problems—and WordPress 2.7 is wicked. I bought my domains from 1and1.com, though, and have no complaints.
brebro is correct - you can register the domain through Dreamhost as well, so really, there is no need for GoDaddy or other services since Dreamhost can handle it all.
After my horrifying 2 years of experience with 1&1;, I would strongly recommend not using them for anything. They are the Wal-Mart of hosting.

I’ve never used 1and1’s hosting, I just bought my domains from them. They had some sale going on. It wouldn’t surprise me if their hosting was lackluster, though. Dreamhost has been wonderful, and their support team is very on the ball in my experience.
Yes, 1and1 had the best domain reg prices ($5.99/year) but have raised it to $8.99 now. Still not bad because that price includes the private registration feature that GoDaddy charges you as an option, and they also stopped requiring you to fax a request to cancel a domain which I did not like, so that’s good. I never tried them for hosting. I enjoy the unlimited number of domains that Dreamhost allows you to host with just one account. Also, at Dreamhost, the domain is free as long as you are hosting with them, so that saves you the $9.95 they would normally charge for it.
