Today is particularly nasty out. It’s wet and cold and awful. Any thoughts on how the rest of the winter will be?

Cold, dark, and it will last for the rest of your life.

“Groundhog Day” is one of my all-time favorite films. I’ve seen it at least two-dozen times.

So, anyone think it will really snow tomorrow?

As an expat from Maine, I guarantee the winter will be much shorter than what I am used to! The snow is beautiful! (I appreciate it so much more knowing it won’t be sticking around until May!)

Happy New Year.

Thanks, Firelady ... we have maybe 1-2 inches of snow out here on the farm in Alexander right now. It was 14 this morning.

Felt like about 20 below last night when I was running around in it getting one of the horses back into the pasture. ;-)

But, yep, winter does not last all that long here.

It’s not the cold, it’s the windchill that gets you!

Wallpaper is sticky to fight, the sneaky bastard can paste ya one before you get set good. Wallpaper is paper is not all flowers and colorful designs, you know, its just hanging around looking for an advantage. Do not trust it!

Since it did snow, time to dust off my trusty recipe for Snow Cola!!

Take a large drinking glass and go outside. Fill it with snow (the white kind, not the yellow) and come back inside. Pour your favorite cola beverage into it. Makes a delicious refreshment.

I just hope it’s cold enough for long enough to keep the mosquitoes and such down in numbers when it gets warm.
If I’ve lost track of where my gloves and wool socks went, it’s been warm for far too long!
