Hello, and welcome to the 2003 Mountain Sports Festival (and for many of you, I should really say, "Welcome back!").
From its beginnings as a concept and a dream, the festival has grown tremendously. The first year, we celebrated great events, good music and a range of activities -- and enjoyed an all-around good time. The second year saw success unlike anything we could have expected. We had all of the ingredients: the great events, the quality music and the diverse activities at the festival center. Most importantly, however, we had the support of the community. In my opinion, success was there just waiting to happen, and in 2002 it did -- in a big way.
This year, the festival center will be hopping, with offerings as diverse as the community that created it. From rolling a kayak to scaling a climbing tower to learning to ride a mountain board or even lassoing a mechanical bull, just about everyone will have a chance to sample something they've never done before.
This small festival, built on dreams and community support, has grown into a tremendous event thanks to you -- the mountain-sports enthusiast. And on behalf of the founding committee, the board of directors and our 2003 sponsors, I celebrate this success, and welcome you to a weekend of mountain fun!
