Burning topics for busy parents
Last spring, our special section on kids' issues scooted around the heavy stuff. And we still had a good time this year. Back again, and bigger than ever, is our comprehensive guide to area summer camps (with an emphasis on arts- and science-centric programs) -- plus fun with food and a stylish photo essay pairing two hot trends: twins and organic baby clothes.
However, for our retooled Kids Guide 2008, news reporters (and moms) Anne Fitten Glenn and Tracy Rose volleyed trenchant questions at local experts on such crucially now topics as vaccination -- lately thrown into relief by the landmark Hannah Poling case -- toy recalls, attachment parenting, and more. Another writer mom, Sarah Welch, talks TV. As in how much is too much. And is computer "screen time" as educational a substitute as it seems?
If you're a parent who logs their own screen time researching any of the above issues, we hope our guide will make these tough topics a little more black-and-white.
