• 05/30: Fair-Trade Stock-Up

  TH (5/30), 4-6pm - Fair-Trade Stock-Up: Assist with unpacking and pricing merchandise for Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit, fair-trade retail store that sells handcrafted items made by artisans in more than 30 developing countries.

• 06/01: Black Mountain Arts and Crafts Show

  SA (6/1), 10am-5pm & SU (6/2), 10am-4pm - The Black Mountain Arts and Crafts Show will feature 65 crafters and artists, demonstrations, food and music. Held throughout downtown Black Mountain. Free. Info: OldDepot.org or 69-7626.

• 06/01: Isaac Dickson Spring Carnival

  SA (6/1), 10am-4pm - The Isaac Dickson spring carnival will feature activities for kids, gifts, an auction, food and music. Held at 125 Hill St. Free to attend; carnival game prices vary. Info: facebook.com/IsaacDicksonElementary.

• 06/01: Art, River and Music Festival

  SA (6/1), 9am-4pm - The Art, River and Music Festival and crazy float contest will feature 50 regional artists, demonstrations, a dance workshop for kids and free canoe and kayak tours. • 06/01: Old Timey Day

  SA (6/1), 8am-2pm - Henderson County Curb Market Old Timey Day will feature breakfast cooked on a wood stove, antiques display, music, demonstrations and more. Held at 221 N. Church St., Hendersonville. Free. Info: 692-8012.

• 06/02: Village Square Art and Craft Show

  SA (6/1) & SU (6/2), 10am-5pm - "Two days of family fun with regional arts and crafts, mountain music, food and face painting." Held in Kelsey-Hutchinson Park and Village Square at Pine and 5th Streets, Highlands. Sponsored by the Macon County Art Association. Free to attend. Info: avl.mx/to.

• 06/06: Volunteer Fair

  TH (6/6), 10am-2pm - The Get Connected Volunteer Fair will help interested community members find local volunteer opportunities. Held at the Transylvania County Library's Rogow Room, 212 S. Gaston St., Brevard. Free. Info: rsvp@landofsky.org.

• 06/08: Mountain Safari

  SA (6/8), 5-9pm - Volunteer are sought for Mountain Safari, an after-hours party with the animals of the WNC Nature Center. Volunteers will perform a range of tasks, from parking assistance to bartending. Volunteers receive free admission, food and drink.

• 06/08: Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration

  SA (6/8), 10am-5pm - The Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration will feature music, dance, craft demonstrations and vendors. Held on Main Street, Waynesville. Free. Info: downtownwaynesville.com.

• 06/09: Revolutionary War Days

  SA (6/8) & SU (6/9), 10am - Revolutionary War Days, a day-long festival celebrating the American Revolution, will feature demonstrations, soldier drills and information about life in the 1700s.
