Directed by: John Boorman (Exorcist II: The Heretic)
Starring: Nigel Terry, Helen Mirren, Nicholas Clay, Nicol Williamson, Cherie Lunghi

The Hendersonville Film Society is running John Boorman’s Excalibur in honor of the filmmaker’s 75th birthday this year. (More Boorman is on its way next week with World Cinema’s screening of the filmmaker’s first feature, Catch Us If You Can (1965), with the Dave Clark Five.) Since Excalibur was reviewed earlier this year, I’ll merely say here that it’s as great as it was when I reviewed it in February and as great as it was in 1981 when it first came out. For more information on the film, go to www.mountainx.com/movies.
The Hendersonville Film Society will show Excalibur at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, in the Smoky Mountain Theater at Lake Pointe Landing Retirement Community, 333 Thompson St., Hendersonville. (From Asheville, take I-26 to U.S. 64 West, turn right at the third light onto Thompson Street. Follow to the Lake Point Landing entrance and park in the lot on the left.)
