Blog Log: The week in local blogging

Asheville has a certain reputation regarding the type of people who flock to this fair city. Not to perpetuate stereotypes, but to outsiders (speaking in general terms, of course), the typical Ashevillean is seen as someone who grows the hair out a little longer, obsesses over treading lightly, and holds radical beliefs about the afterlife. Sound familiar? This week, our bloggers weigh in on the matter.

A Girl Who Wears Glasses shows that there’s more than one way to be conscious of your carbon footprint.

Artful Parent takes it to the sink with an I’m Not a Dirty Hippie Party, (though Call Me Lightening points out that the heat does make it a little harder to keep the sweat down).

And it looks we may get a new apparition on the ghost tours. Arratik has this on a potential new resident guided here by spirit voices.

And of course, we all like the grass. Except this guy at Ashvegas, who doesn’t.

But we are sure an active lot. Bloggers usually have a few things going at once, and promoting them online is just one of the perks that comes with the medium.

BlogAsheville is plugging “The District,” a photo exhibit by Max Cooper, otherwise known by the blog Dark Topography.

And George the Bastard is pushing the Feral Chihuahua show this weekend.

Meanwhile, Gordon over at Scrutiny Hooligans is modestly proposing himself as a replacement for Joe Dunn in the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners race. Just, you know, putting it out there.
