Council member Smith: Planning and Zoning Board appointments process should have gone differently
See Smith’s blog post on the matter here. In it, he notes that “the Planning and Zoning Board plays a very important role in our city’s development review process,” and says that “in retrospect, I wish I’d done the vote a little differently and asked for a discussion period rather than simply going around and naming our choices. The learning curve is an unforgiving mistress.”
At the Council meeting, as Smith notes in his post, he voted for Mark Brooks and Joe Minicozzi to sit on the board. Brooks was voted in; Minicozzi wasn’t.
As noted in an Xpress story today, some questions are swirling around the vote and a board member who made the cut.
