Climb every mountain: Charley, Jane and Norm - the nice folks at Jus' Running in Asheville - are in the first stages of putting together a book of runs in and around the city.
They hope to include runs of varying locations, terrains and distances, from the 1.3 mile loop around Carrier Park to full-commitment ultra-runs in places like Bent Creek or DuPont State Forest.
This, naturally, is where you come in: If you have a route you'd like to contribute to the book, either e-mail the Jus' Running crew with the details or visit www.mapmyrun.com and map the route out yourself. If you choose the latter, once you're done, click "share with a friend by e-mail" and send the goods to them at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Ideally, your route description will include directions to the start of the run, information about parking and a description of any pertinent features (climbs/descents, surfaces, traffic).
If you need more information, call the store at 252-7867.
Spam it's not: Asheville Outdoor Adventure News is a recently launched e-mail newsletter that aims to inform and connect the outdoor-sports community around the city and beyond.
Past features have included roundups of local competitions, sports-medicine columns and announcements of upcoming, can't-miss events around the region. If you want to get with the program, e-mail AOAN editor Jonathan Poston at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Put "include me" in the subject line.
