I am a woman of faith.
God has given me all the good things I have ever had, particularly a loving husband of 25 years, five children who have been the delight of my life, and a house full of cute little dachshunds. We have not had a dull moment yet.
We never had a whole lot, but the Lord blessed us with the opportunity to sell at Dreamland Flea Market – everything from hair color, health and beauty to coffee beans and groceries.
When Troy’s job at Ingles warehouse dead-ended, the flea market became a job we could not afford to give up. Our weekend gig grew until we had to hire help and rent a building to store our goods until the weekends. Customers from Dreamland found us and started shopping during the week, so we moved into 121 Sweeten Creek Road and worked there for seven years.
By the grace of God, we found an enormous house for our family that we could afford, and a second mortgage financed the opening of our Black Mountain store and bought out the Asheville store.
When customers who have shopped with us since flea-market days see all the family running Amazing Savings, it encourages them to work hard and pray harder.
Currently, our Rachel (22) is married, expecting, and managing our Asheville location with her husband Joseph; Heather (21) is a new mom, managing the grading operation at our Black Mountain location; Daniel (17) is an enthusiastic stocker and about to graduate; Esther (14) is an amazing cashier, still in high school; and Joseph (5) helps whenever he gets a chance.
