Buncombe County Schools and 2009 state budget cuts
In June 2009, Buncombe County Schools sent a letter notifying its intention of increasing class sizes and eliminating up to 110 teaching positions in the school system to deal with the state of North Carolina’s budget requirements. The state is facing a $3 billion shortfall.
